Bengal Warriorz Eye PKL Glory with Stellar Squad Revamp

Bengal Warriorz, the Season 7 PKL champions, are set to reclaim their title with a revamped squad and coaching staff. Former assistant coach Prashant Surve steps up as head coach, and the team retains star raider Maninder Singh while signing top defender Fazel Atrachali ahead of Season 11.

Winners of Season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), the Bengal Warriorz are determined to reclaim their title after finishing seventh in the league standings last season. In preparation for Season 11, they've made significant changes, including parting ways with ex-head coach K Baskaran and promoting former assistant coach Prashant Surve to head coach. Additionally, former kabaddi player Praveen Yadav has been appointed as the new assistant coach.

The Warriorz were active at the Season 11 Player Auction held in Mumbai, ending with a well-rounded squad. One of their key moves was retaining captain Maninder Singh for Rs 1.15 crores using their Final Bid Match (FBM) card. Singh, who is second in PKL history for most raid points with 1,428, will lead the raiding department alongside seasoned players like Nitin Kumar, Vishwas S, Pranay Rane, and newcomer Arjun Rathi, the most expensive Category D player at Rs 41 lakhs.

Defensively, the Warriorz bolstered their lineup by signing Fazel Atrachali, the top-scoring defender in PKL history with 486 tackle points, for Rs 50 lacs. Atrachali will be supported by Nitesh Kumar, sixth on the all-time leaderboard with 350 tackle points, and emerging talents Mayur Kadam and Vaibhav Garje. With experience and new talent, Bengal Warriorz aim to dominate both offensively and defensively in Season 11.
