Rathore Critiques Phogat's Political Move

Rajasthan's sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore criticized wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat for prioritizing personal gains over national pride. Phogat filed her nomination for Haryana's Julana assembly seat as a Congress candidate. Rathore emphasized that the public should decide who truly fought for the tricolour.

Rajasthan's sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore on Wednesday criticized Vinesh Phogat, a wrestler-turned-politician, suggesting that public opinion should determine whether she served the nation or her own interests.

Phogat has filed her nomination from Haryana's Julana assembly seat as a Congress candidate, further fueling the political debate.

Rathore, an Olympic silver medalist and retired Army colonel, underscored the respect garnered by those willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for India's flag, subtly questioning Phogat's intentions given her history in wrestling and recent political ambitions.
