India Claims Victory at South Asian Junior Athletics Championships
India emerged as the overall champion at the South Asian Junior Athletics Championships, securing 48 medals. Despite a strong performance from Sri Lanka in the men's 4x100m relay, India dominated in middle-distance races and throwing events. Sri Lanka claimed second place, while Bangladesh finished third.

India emerged as the overall champion in the South Asian Junior Athletics Championships, securing an impressive haul of 48 medals, including 21 golds, 22 silvers, and 5 bronzes. Sri Lanka finished second with 35 medals, and Bangladesh was a distant third with just three bronze medals.
Sri Lanka managed to upstage India in the men's 4x100m relay, with 100m dash champion W Merone Julian anchoring the team to a meet record of 40.28 seconds. This performance broke the previous record of 41.27 seconds set in 2007. The Indian team secured silver in the relay with a time of 40.76 seconds.
In the women's 4x100m relay, the Indian team comfortably secured gold, setting a meet record of 45.08 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 46.23 seconds. Throughout the event, India showcased dominance in middle-distance races and throwing events, while Sri Lanka excelled in sprint events.
