Mark Allen Slams Poor Snooker Conditions

Northern Irish snooker player Mark Allen narrowly advanced to the second round of the British Open after defeating Gary Wilson 4-3. However, Allen did not hold back in criticizing the playing conditions at the Centaur in Cheltenham, suggesting the table used should be set on fire.

"The conditions out there are absolutely embarrassing," Allen told ITV. "It's some of the worst weather outside, and they've left the massive transport doors open. It's so cold and humid out there. The table needs to be burned. The cushions are unplayable, uncontrollable. It was heavy, although the speed was decent."

Allen also expressed frustration that his complaints about tournament conditions have gone unheard. Responding to the criticism, a World Snooker spokesman cited unprecedented rainfall impacting the conditions and confirmed they had raised the issue of an open door with the venue.
