Boca Juniors head coach Diego Martinez resigned after the club's 2-0 defeat to Belgrano, marking their third consecutive loss in Argentina's top-flight league. The 35-time champions are currently placed 12th in the table with five wins out of 16 matches.

Martinez, who took over the coaching duties in January, communicated his resignation to club president Juan Roman Riquelme. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity. Meanwhile, Riquelme, a former Argentina and Barcelona midfielder, issued an apology to fans for the team's dismal performance, which includes only one win in the last five league games and a recent defeat to rivals River Plate.

Boca Juniors are scheduled to host Argentinos Juniors next Sunday.
