In the opening match of the third Women’s Premier League season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and elected to field against Gujarat Giants on Friday. The defending champions RCB, despite being injury-hit, showcased a strong lineup.

RCB introduced international players Ellyse Perry, Georgia Wareham, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, and Kim Garth, while also giving debuts to Indian players Prema Rawat, Joshitha VJ, and Raghvi Bisht.

Gujarat Giants, on the other hand, debuted five fresh faces, including star West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin, adding new dimensions to their squad.
