Rohan Jaitley, the president of the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA), attended the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Saturday. This comes after his recent re-election as DDCA president, where he secured 1,577 votes against TMC MP Kirti Azad's 777.
Jaitley expressed appreciation for the arrangements made by the Uttar Pradesh government for the event, noting the extensive facilities available despite minimal traffic inconveniences. He commended the administration for the smooth management of the gathering.
The Uttar Pradesh administration reported that the Maha Kumbh Mela has become the first event worldwide to attract over 500 million direct participants. The local administration recorded significant participation on various auspicious days, with large numbers of devotees taking the holy dip. Meanwhile, the state police acted against 54 social media accounts for spreading false information about the event. The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13, 2025, continues until February 26, drawing devotees globally to what is considered the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering.
