Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins, who missed significant matches due to an ankle injury and the birth of his second child, is set to make a return in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Cummins, leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad, sees the IPL as a stepping stone to regain form ahead of crucial international fixtures.

Cummins, speaking to cricket.com.au, expressed confidence in his recovery, citing the IPL's high intensity as perfect preparation for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa at Lord's, starting June 11. He remarked, 'The ankle is starting to come good,' and emphasized his rehabilitation efforts to ensure he's match-ready.

Reflecting on his time off, Cummins cherished the family moments and stated that the IPL schedule would ideally fit his recovery trajectory. 'The intense nature of T20s helps in building physical and mental endurance,' he added, aiming for a successful stint before crucial international tours.
