Indian athlete Gulveer Singh achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the Asian Indoor 5000m record during a recent event held in Boston, USA. Singh finished with a time of 12:59.77, making him the first Indian runner to cover the distance in less than 13 minutes.

This achievement also qualified him for the World Athletics Championships, as his performance surpassed the entry standard time. The record-breaking run in Boston stands as both an indoor national and an Asian indoor record, overshadowing his own previous national outdoor record of 13:11.82.

Gulveer's coach emphasized that while indoor timings may not be recognized as outdoor records, this new milestone is a testament to his progress. With the support of the Athletics Federation of India, hopes are high for the upcoming outdoor season.
