The India U20 women's football team concluded their Pink Ladies U20 Youth Cup journey with a 0-3 loss to Russia at the Emirhan Sport Centre on Tuesday. Despite creating several chances, the Young Tigresses came up short against a dominant Russian side.
Russia secured a commanding lead early in the match, scoring twice within the first 17 minutes. They added a third goal soon after halftime, thwarting India's attempts to find the net. India had previously beaten Jordan and Hong Kong in the tournament.
The friendly matches were crucial for India as preparations for both the SAFF U20 Women's Championship and the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers, slated for July and August. However, Russia's robust gameplay proved too challenging for India this time.
