Kerala bowlers made a strong start in the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha, striking early to leave the two-time champions at 81 for three by lunch. The match, held on Wednesday, saw Kerala's MD Nidheesh and Eden Apple Tom spearheading the bowling efforts.

Nidheesh removed two key Vidarbha players, starting with an lbw review against Parth Rekhade and later dismissing Darshan Nalkande. Tom played his part by taking the wicket of Dhruv Shorey, who was caught behind.

Despite being in trouble at 24 for three, Vidarbha's Danish Malewar (38*) and Karun Nair (24*) countered with a solid stand of 57 runs, helping their team recover from an early setback.
