The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken decisive action following a security breach during the ICC Champions Trophy match between New Zealand and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. A spectator infiltrated the field, an incident flagged by Dawn on Monday.

The individual, hailing from Attock, was swiftly detained and charged at New Town police station. On Tuesday, he secured bail but was fined a Rs. 50,000 surety bond. The PCB reiterated on Tuesday that player and official safety is paramount.

The spectator faced legal proceedings and received a lifetime ban from all cricket venues across Pakistan. Meanwhile, Rachin's stellar performance with the bat ensured New Zealand's victory, securing their spot in the semi-finals after ending Bangladesh's campaign.
