The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has slapped a 0-3 forfeit on Churchill Brothers FC after they fielded an ineligible player during a match against Aizawl FC held on February 17 at Mizoram's Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

Though the encounter originally concluded in a 1-1 draw, the disciplinary committee found Churchill Brothers in breach of Articles 6.5.6 and 6.6.6 of the I-League 2024-25 Regulations and converted the result into a forfeiture, impacting their position yet keeping them second in the league standings.

In a related development, similar disciplinary actions were taken against Namdhari FC earlier this week for an identical rules violation against Inter Kashi.
