The triumph marked India's third title win in this competition, spurred by skipper Rohit Sharma's pivotal innings of 76 runs from 83 balls. The victory was celebrated across India, with Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, expressing national pride at the accomplishment.
Rohit Sharma's outstanding performance in the final earned him the Player of the Match award. Meanwhile, New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra clinched the Golden Bat for scoring the most runs in the tournament, amassing 263 runs at an impressive average of 65.75. Despite Ravindra's quickfire 37 runs in the final, New Zealand fell short, posting 251/7 after opting to bat first.
