The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking a formal explanation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after their representative was notably absent from the stage during the Champions Trophy closing ceremony in Dubai.
The incident occurred after India secured a four-wicket victory against New Zealand, clinching the title for the third time. PCB's chief operating officer, Sumair Ahmed, who was also the tournament director, was not invited for the event's final presentation.
BCCI president Roger Binny and ICC chairman Jay Shah officiated the prize distribution, awarding medals and the trophy, while PCB officials expressed disappointment over what they described as unjust treatment, demanding a public apology and assurance against future occurrences.
