The 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix took center stage at New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, marking the start of a thrilling three-day competition featuring 280 athletes from 20 nations. Participants will compete in 98 events, with a strong representation of 195 male and 85 female athletes, underscoring its significance on the global para-athletics calendar.

Inaugurated by Sujata Chaturvedi, Secretary for Sports in the Indian Government, the event was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Lt Gen NSR Subramani and PCI President Devendra Jhajharia. Cultural performances by the Indian Army, showcasing traditional dances like Kukri and Kalaripayattu, captivated both the audience and international participants.

Chaturvedi emphasized the event as a milestone in India's commitment to para-sports, noting its importance in the lead-up to the 2036 Summer Games. Devendra Jhajharia highlighted the Grand Prix's role in celebrating athletes' resilience, while World Para Athletics' Martin Chorley expressed excitement over hosting the event in India, paving the way for the World Championships in New Delhi later this year.
