Shreyas Iyer Transforms Short Ball Approach to Guide PBKS to Victory

In a thrilling 2025 IPL match, Shreyas Iyer showcased his improved prowess against short-pitched deliveries, scoring an unbeaten 97 off 42 balls for Punjab Kings against Gujarat Titans. His transformation helped elevate PBKS to an imposing total, setting the stage for a potential victory.

In a stunning display of cricketing prowess, Shreyas Iyer silenced critics with a brilliant 97 not out off 42 balls, leading Punjab Kings (PBKS) to an impressive 243/5 against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Once vulnerable against short-pitched bowling, Iyer's 2025 performance has turned previous weaknesses into strengths, as highlighted by his staggering average and strike rate improvements while playing pull and hook shots.

PBKS, spearheaded by Iyer's innings and supported by explosive partnerships, particularly an 81-run stand with Shashank Singh, overwhelmed Gujarat's bowling attack. Despite Sai Kishore's notable three-wicket haul for GT, other bowlers struggled to contain Iyer's dominance.
