The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI), originally scheduled for May 11 at Dharamshala, is expected to be relocated to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This decision follows the successful execution of 'Operation Sindoor' by the Indian Army, which targeted anti-Indian terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Given Dharamshala's proximity to the India-Pakistan border, the venue faced potential security threats, prompting the shift. The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), in agreement with the IPL, has offered its iconic stadium for the anticipated clash. GCA Secretary Anil Patel stated that the Mumbai Indians team is set to arrive in Ahmedabad on Wednesday evening, highlighting the readiness of the venue to host the match.

Meanwhile, BCCI sources had previously considered relocating the fixture to Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium following the closure of Dharamshala Airport. The Indian Armed Forces' successful Operation Sindoor, targeting sites in Pakistan and PoJK, marks a significant military move—the deepest into Pakistani territory since 1971—aimed at neutralizing threats from top terrorist leaders. This joint operation involved the Army, Navy, and Air Force, showcasing India's strategic capabilities.
