The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) opened a cutting-edge sports facility in Dwarka’s sector 8, featuring premier amenities for disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, and taekwondo. The inauguration was graced by dignitaries, including LG V K Saxena, South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, and Bijwasan MLA Kailash Gahlot.
Saxena highlighted the strategic vision aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India Movement launched in 2019, as he underscores the facility’s role in encouraging sports engagement across diverse regions. The complex is a significant stride in enhancing the city's sports infrastructure, with aspirations to nurture Olympic-caliber athletes.
Outdoor facilities feature tennis, badminton, basketball, netball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, complemented by an Olympic-size pool and an open-air gym. Future expansions include a football and hockey ground, athletic tracks, and professional coaching in various sports to develop emerging talents.
