Villarreal has made a significant acquisition by securing Canadian international Tajon Buchanan on a permanent five-year contract. This move follows Buchanan's loan transfer from Inter Milan in February. The 26-year-old, recognized for his versatility and speed, primarily plays as a midfielder but also shines as a winger.
Reports indicate that Villarreal paid approximately nine million euros for Buchanan, who transitioned from Club Brugge to Inter in January 2024. With 13 appearances for Villarreal, Buchanan has proven to be an asset, aiding the team's fifth-place finish last season in LaLiga.
Incorporating physical power and adept ball control, Buchanan is praised for his ability to score and assist. As Villarreal gears up to launch their LaLiga campaign against Oviedo on August 15, Buchanan's experience with 51 caps for Canada further bolsters the roster.
