Pakistan to Face Afghanistan and UAE in Thrilling T20 Tri-Series

Pakistan, Afghanistan, and UAE will compete in a T20 tri-series starting August 29 in Sharjah. This tournament serves as a precursor to the Asia Cup. The teams will play each other twice, with the top two advancing to the final on September 7, enhancing preparations for the T20 World Cup.

In an exciting prelude to the Asia Cup, Pakistan is set to compete with Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates in a T20 triangular series beginning August 29, according to the ICC. This series is strategically placed as a warm-up for next year's T20 World Cup, allowing teams to fine-tune their preparations.

The opening match will witness Pakistan challenging Afghanistan, who reached last year's T20 World Cup semi-finals. Each team will face the others twice, and the top two will advance to a final showdown scheduled for September 7. Historically, Pakistan and Afghanistan have clashed five times in T20Is at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, with Pakistan securing victory thrice.

Currently, Pakistan is amidst a three-match T20I contest against West Indies, following a narrow 2-1 series defeat to Bangladesh. Afghanistan marked their last T20 campaign in December with a series win against Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, UAE enters the tournament fresh from a successful T20I series triumph over Bangladesh in May.
