England's cricket team seized the advantage on the second day of the fifth Test against India at The Oval, thanks to a remarkable five-wicket haul by pacer Gus Atkinson and a dynamic 92-run opening partnership between Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley.

India began the day at 204/6 with Karun Nair and Washington Sundar striking early boundaries, but Atkinson and Josh Tongue led a devastating bowling attack, swiftly dismantling the Indian batting line-up, restricting them to 224 in just 69.4 overs.

In response, England's openers set an aggressive tone, with Crawley reaching his 19th Test fifty, as they took England to 109/1 at lunch, trailing by 115 runs, leaving India on the back foot.
