In a remarkable display of consistency, Jon Rahm successfully defended his LIV Golf season points title without securing a single event win throughout the year. Despite an impressive closing 11-under 60 round, Rahm lost a playoff to Sebastian Munoz on the first extra hole at the Indianapolis event.
Munoz's victory came just two days after becoming the first player to shoot 59 with a double bogey. With Rahm practicing on the range, Munoz birdied the last two holes to tie Rahm at 22-under at The Club at Chatham Hills. Rahm had also faced disappointment in Chicago, losing a three-way playoff to Dean Burmester.
Despite his playoff losses, Rahm is proud of his season, taking the points title from five-time winner Joaquin Niemann. Though Niemann finished fourth, it was his first top-10 finish without a win. Munoz and Niemann's Torque GC team set a record with a 64-under total, breaking the LIV mark. Meanwhile, Ian Poulter secured his spot on the tour as Henrik Stenson faced relegation.
