In a transformative event for Kashmir, Dal Lake is set to host the inaugural Khelo India Water Sports Festival, held from August 21-23. Famous for its picturesque beauty and cultural heritage, Dal Lake will morph into a dynamic sporting arena, showcasing rowing, canoeing, and kayaking competitions.
More than 400 athletes from 36 states and union territories will participate in this landmark event, organized by the Sports Authority of India and J&K Sports Council. This initiative aligns with the government's 'Khelo Bharat' policy to boost grassroots sports and local infrastructure, fostering economic growth in the region.
