South Africa's cricket campaign to Pakistan has hit a snag as key players David Miller and Gerald Coetzee are sidelined due to injuries. Cricket South Africa announced Thursday that Miller has been ruled out due to a hamstring strain, disrupting his plans to captain the T20 team in the upcoming series.
Fast bowler Coetzee will also miss both the T20 and ODI series after a pectoral muscle injury. In their absence, Matthew Breetzke and newcomer Tony de Zorzi have been brought in to reinforce the squad. Donovan Ferreira has been appointed as the new T20 captain, signaling a significant change in team leadership.
Additionally, several players, including Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs, and Kagiso Rabada, are being rested following the test series. ODI Captain Temba Bavuma is currently recuperating from a calf injury, with hopes to rejoin the team for the test series in India. The competition structure includes a blend of veteran and emerging talents across both formats.
