Astros, Devenski settle on one-year deal

The Houston Astros and right-hander Chris Devenski avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.525 million contract, according to multiple reports. The deal contains a 2020 team option for $5.625 million.

The two sides settled in the middle of their exchanged figures. Devenski was seeking $1.65 million and the Astros offered $1.4 million. The 28-year-old Devenski went 2-3 with a 4.18 ERA in 50 appearances (one start) last season when he made $599,200.
