Colts bring back Mudd to coaching staff
The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday they have brought back Howard Mudd for a second stint with the team, reuniting him with head coach Frank Reich. Mudd, who served as offensive line coach for the Colts from 1998-2009, has been hired as a senior offensive assistant.
Mudd worked with Reich on the staffs of former Colts head coaches Tony Dungy and Jim Caldwell. Indy's offensive line coaching staff has undergone a facelift since last season, when the Colts' line surrendered the fewest sacks (18) in the league.
Dave DeGuglielmo was fired and replaced by Chris Strausser, and assistant line coach Bobby Johnson left to join the Bills. The Colts announced that Klayton Adams will be the new assistant offensive line coach. The club also announced that Marcus Brady has been promoted to quarterbacks coach.
