The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction saw a historic day as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) broke records by signing Australian all-rounder Cameron Green for a staggering Rs 25.20 crore, making him the most expensive overseas player. Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana was acquired for Rs 18 crore.

The auction was equally momentous for uncapped Indian talents. Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, both young and promising, fetched Rs 14.20 crore each with Chennai Super Kings, becoming the highest-paid uncapped players in IPL history.

However, despite recent form, stars like Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan went unsold. In contrast, David Miller found a new home with Delhi Capitals at his base price, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the auction as teams aimed to fill 77 slots.
