The Andhra Pradesh government has recognized the exceptional performance of N Sricharani, a left-arm spinner from the state, who played a decisive role in India's triumph at the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup.
Following India's 52-run victory over South Africa, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a comprehensive incentive package to honor the cricketer's contribution, highlighting a Rs 2.5 crore cash award, a housing plot, and a government position.
Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh presented Sricharani with the Rs 2.5 crore cheque in Undavalli. Despite a promised 1,000 sq ft plot in Kadapa, she received a 500 sq ft plot in Vishakapatnam. After completing her degree, she will also secure a Group-I level state government position.
