FIFA World Cup Ticket Frenzy: Over 500 Million Requests Received

FIFA has received over 500 million ticket requests for the World Cup. Excluding the host nations, most requests came from Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, and Colombia. FIFA is offering tickets from $60 to $8,680. The most-requested matches include Colombia vs. Portugal and Mexico vs. South Korea.

FIFA, the global soccer governing body, announced on Wednesday that it has received an astonishing 500 million ticket requests for the upcoming World Cup, underscoring the massive global interest in the sport's premier event.

While the host nations, the United States, Mexico, and Canada, lead in ticket requests, fans from countries such as Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, and Colombia have also shown significant interest. In response to previous criticism over high prices, FIFA will offer $60 tickets for all 48 national federations involved, leaving distribution to each federation.

The most sought-after matches in the latest ticket sales phase include the high-profile clash between Colombia and Portugal on June 27 in Miami Gardens, and the Mexico and South Korea encounter on June 18 in Guadalajara. Ticket allocation for oversubscribed games will be decided by a random draw, with notifications set for early February.
