The L&T Mumbai Open WTA 125K Series is gearing up for a grand return in 2026, marking its fifth edition. Known as one of India's leading women's tennis events, the tournament is set to unfold at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association in Mumbai, with Qualifying Rounds lined up for January 30 and 31, and February 1. The Main Draw will commence from February 2 to 8, featuring a formidable international field in both Singles and Doubles categories.

This year's Singles entry list boasts talent from around the globe, including New Zealand's Lulu Sun, Latvia's Darja Semenistaja, Australia's Kimberly Birrell, Belgium's Hanne Vandewinkel, and Chinese Taipei's Joanna Garland. Notably, the lineup welcomes back Thailand's Mananchaya Sawangkaew, the previous Runner-Up, alongside France's Leolia Jeajean. The tournament maintains its ongoing commitment to fostering Indian tennis by offering Wild Cards to Indian players, allowing them to face off against top-tier international competitors.

Highlighting its impact, the last edition saw 16-year-old Maaya Rajeswaran make headlines by making a surprising run to the semi-finals, defeating seasoned adversaries. This event played a pivotal role in preparing India's team for the Billie Jean King Cup Asia Oceania Group I. Players like Sahaja Yamalapalli, Shrivalli Bhamidipati, Ankita Raina, and Prarthana Thombare honed their skills, contributing to India's qualification for the next stage. Sunder Iyer, Secretary of MSLTA, stated that the L&T Mumbai Open has evolved into a marquee event on the Indian tennis scene, offering local players invaluable international exposure and promising an exciting showcase of world-class talent this February.
