Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu has once again demonstrated her prowess by setting three new national records at the National Weightlifting Championships. Competing in the women's 48kg category, Chanu lifted an impressive total of 205kg, comprising 89kg in snatch and 116kg in clean and jerk.
This remarkable performance signifies a comeback for Chanu, who had not surpassed her personal best in the snatch and clean and jerk events since 2020 and 2021, respectively. Speaking after clinching the gold, Chanu expressed satisfaction with her performance, citing it as a confidence booster as she prepares for the Asian Championships and other upcoming competitions.
