Meanwhile, Gemma Dryburgh made an impressive start with an eagle and three birdies, finishing just one shot behind with a 66, tied with Somi Lee and Hye-Jin Choi.

Top-ranked players like Jeeno Thitikul and Lydia Ko remain in contention, each carding a solid 67. Notably, defending champion Angel Yin recorded a 69. Absent from the tournament is world second-ranked Nelly Korda, who continues to skip the early Asia swing for the third consecutive year.
