Indian Women Shine at Asian Beach Games: Golden Triumphs on Foreign Sands
Simran Kamboj and Nikita Chauhan, part of India's Women Beach Kabaddi Team, achieved gold at the 6th Asian Beach Games in China. Their performance was celebrated at SAI's NCOE in Dharamshala, highlighting their dedication to the sport and inspiring young athletes to pursue physical and mental fitness through sports.
Indian Women Beach Kabaddi Team athletes Simran Kamboj and Nikita Chauhan were greeted with a warm reception at the Sports Authority of India's (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) in Dharamshala. This honor came in recognition of their stellar performance, clinching gold medals at the 6th Asian Beach Games in China.
Hailing from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, respectively, Kamboj and Chauhan returned triumphant from China, where the tournament took place from April 22 to 30. The athletes expressed their joy and motivation following the welcoming ceremony. "The gold medal inspires us to strive for greater heights and continue to represent India," acknowledged Kamboj.
Chauhan described her experience at the Asian Beach Games as both daunting and enriching. "Winning the gold was challenging but immensely rewarding," Chauhan noted, urging young generations to engage in sports for holistic health benefits. Additionally, five more athletes from SAI's NCOE have qualified for the upcoming Asian Games.
