Vinesh Phogat Faces Scrutiny Over Missed Doping Test
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been notified by the International Testing Agency for missing an out-of-competition doping test in December 2025. Although not an anti-doping rule violation, it's a warning under the whereabouts clause. The incident marks her first missed test within 12 months, amid preparations for her competitive return.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat faces scrutiny as the International Testing Agency (ITA) formally recorded a missed doping test from December 18, 2025. This notification is not an anti-doping violation but serves as a warning under the whereabouts clause.
The ITA reported the missed test after Vinesh allegedly failed to update her location during a designated one-hour testing window. The test attempt coincided with her attendance at the Haryana Assembly first winter session, a scheduling conflict compounded by her recent maternity.
Despite cooperation during the testing attempt and ongoing preparations for a competitive comeback, the missed test remains recorded. Vinesh, warned about potential consequences, must respond within seven days if disputing negligence or risk the decision becoming final.
