In a thrilling IPL encounter, Punjab Kings (PBKS) exhibited a brilliant batting performance, setting a daunting target of 211 against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday evening at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. PBKS' innings was kick-started by openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya's aggressive approach, dismantling Mitchell Starc for 22 runs in the opening over. This remarkable start marked PBKS' highest score in the first over in IPL history, surpassing their previous record of 21 against Mumbai Indians earlier this season.

The momentum stayed with Punjab as they blitzed to 50 runs in just 2.4 overs, their fastest ever in IPL. Priyansh Arya continued his fine form, reaching his fifth half-century of the tournament in just 24 balls before being dismissed for 56. Despite losing Prabhsimran and Priyansh, the Kings maintained their stride, reaching 107/2 by the midpoint of their innings.

Later, skipper Shreyas Iyer and Cooper Connolly consolidated the innings, ensuring a stable run rate. Iyer achieved his 32nd IPL fifty in the 18th over while Suryansh Shedge's blitz of 21* propelled PBKS beyond 200, closing their innings on 210/5. Delhi's Madhav Tiwari (2/40) and Starc (2/57) were notable bowlers in an otherwise challenging outing.
