This incident was the team's first over-rate offence of the season, as noted under Article 2.22 in the IPL's Code of Conduct. The regulation aims to ensure matches progress in a timely manner, reflecting the league's commitment to efficient game management.
The game, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, ended in a significant loss for SRH. Chasing a target of 168 runs set by the Gujarat Titans, SRH's batting lineup crumbled, being dismissed for just 86 runs in 14.5 overs.
