Gyaneshwari Yadav Shines at 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships
Gyaneshwari Yadav secured a silver and bronze in the 53kg category at the 2026 Asian Senior Weightlifting Championships, while Jinlan Zhao won gold. The event is a qualifier for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Indian weightlifter Gyaneshwari Yadav delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Asian Senior Weightlifting Championships by winning both silver and bronze medals in the 53kg category.
Yadav clinched the silver in the snatch section and secured an overall bronze with a total lift of 194kg. The gold medal went to China's Jinlan Zhao, who lifted 216kg, while the silver was awarded to Vietnam's Hoai Huong Nguyen with a total of 195kg.
The championships, held at the Mahatma Mandir & Exhibition Centre, feature 178 lifters from 28 Asian nations and two Commonwealth countries and serve as a qualifying event for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. India's Komal Kohar had earlier won a bronze in the women's 48kg category.
