Aprilia overshadowed Ducati's centenary festivities in Mugello, as Francesco Bagnaia's early lead was overtaken. Bezzecchi secured his first win, with Bagnaia reclaiming third place at the last moment, averting a full Aprilia podium.
Marco Bezzecchi secured a sensational victory at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, overshadowing teammate Jorge Martin. The Aprilia team disrupted Ducati's 100-year celebrations in Mugello, as Francesco Bagnaia's leadership vanished in the race's final stages.
Bagnaia, previously triumphant in Mugello from 2022 to 2024, led the race until Bezzecchi skillfully maneuvered past him with ten laps remaining, followed by Martin, who also overtook the Italian rider, relegating him to third.
Bezzecchi held a commanding lead, crossing the finish line over three seconds ahead of Martin. Despite Aprilia's strong presence, Bagnaia's late comeback secured him third place, preventing a full podium sweep by Aprilia, as he reclaimed the position from Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura at the line.
