In a nail-biting encounter at Nagpur's VCA Civil Lines Ground, NECO Master Blaster staged an impressive comeback to defeat Pagariya Strikers by seven runs in the Vidarbha Women's Premier League (VPL) 2026 on Sunday. NECO initially put up 133/6 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a captain's knock from Shraddha Nabira who scored a quick-fire 31 off 23 balls.
Snehal Maniyar, Diya Bhagwat, Nupur Kohale, and Arya Gohane provided crucial support, contributing to a solid team total. In response, Pagariya Strikers seemed to have the chase under control with Sanskruti Sant leading their innings with a gritty 48 off 36 balls. However, a sudden turnaround in the 18th over saw NECO's bowlers and fielders turn the game around.
Nupur Kohale's three-wicket haul and Yashshri Soley's two wickets, supported by a stellar fielding display, resulted in four run-outs. These efforts stopped the Strikers just short of victory, as they were bowled out for 126 in the final over. This victory sets up NECO Master Blaster to face Orange Tigresses next.
