Leading the charge for India at the Badminton Asia Junior (U-19) Championships are All India Junior Ranking medallists Tanvi Patri and Abhinav Garg. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place in Yatsushiro, Japan, from June 26 to July 5, 2026, featuring both team and individual contests.

Patri and Garg earned their spots on the Indian squad through their commendable performances at the All India U-19 ranking tournament in Bengaluru last month. They join the ranks alongside top doubles teams, such as Punith S and Pavan S in boys doubles, Diya Bheemaiah B, and Baruni Parshwal in girls doubles, and the duo of Punith S and Deepak Raj Aditi in mixed doubles.

The remaining team members were carefully selected after a rigorous trial at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati, adhering to the guidelines set by the Junior Selection Committee of the Badminton Association of India (BAI). BAI General Secretary Sanjay Mishra expressed confidence in the team's potential, noting the momentum built by last year's mixed team medal at the Junior World Championships. The Indian squad has set its sights on clinching multiple medals this year.
