Canadian teenage tennis sensation Victoria Mboko, currently the world number nine, has been forced to withdraw from Wimbledon. This decision follows a knee injury suffered during the Queen's Club Championships.
Mboko slipped awkwardly in her match against Karolina Pliskova, leading to a scan that confirmed an injury to her medial collateral ligament. Consequently, she also pulled out of her doubles match with Serena Williams, who made her return to competitive tennis this week.
Victoria Mboko's exit marks the third withdrawal from the Wimbledon main draw, following the recent exits by American Hailey Baptiste and Britain's Sonay Kartal.
