A's Olson exits with hand injury

Oakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson could miss time with a hand injury suffered Thursday in the finale of a two-game series in Japan against the Seattle Mariners. Olson left the game after fouling a ball off of his right hand.

San Francisco Chronicle reporter Susan Slusser reported postgame Thursday that Olson was having trouble gripping a bat after the injury. Olson, 24, went 1 for 5 with a walk and run scored in the two-game set.

The Athletics are not expected to update his status until the team returns to Oakland. --Field Level Media
