Japan’s Olympic Minister Resigns Following Controversial Remarks

Japan's Olympic Minister Yoshitaka Sakurada resigned after he offended people, affected by 2011's massive earthquake and tsunami, with his remarks. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe accepted his resignation. This comes at a time when only 'one' year before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Abe said its his government's unwavering policy to do everything for the people's recovery and at the same time keeping in touch with their feelings. And he offered a deep apology for Sakurada's comments.
Low House lawmaker, Shunichi Suzuki will now be filling up Sakurada's shoes.
