The Atlanta Braves acquired veteran left-hander Jerry Blevins from the Oakland Athletics on Sunday for cash considerations. Blevins, 35, signed a $1.5 million minor-league deal with the A's in February and posted a 1.69 ERA in seven bullpen appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas.

The reliever was 3-2 with a 4.85 ERA and one save in 64 games with the New York Mets in 2018. Over 12 seasons with Oakland (2007-13), the Washington Nationals (2014) and Mets (2015-18), Blevins is 29-13 with a 3.52 ERA and six saves in 564 games.

To make room on the 25-man roster, Atlanta optioned right-hander Wes Parsons to Triple-A Gwinnett and transferred right-hander Arodys Vizcaino (shoulder surgery) to the 60-day injured list.
