Vettel Canada penalty: Stewards reject Ferrari's appeal to overturn decision

Ferrari's appeal to remove the five-second penalty that was given to Sebastian Vettel during the Canadian Grand Prix has been rejected by the stewards as no "relevant new elements" were presented.

Vettel was handed a five-second penalty for rejoining the track in an unsafe manner, the German's error forcing Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton to take evasive action on lap 48.
