Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea may miss up to four weeks of the season but will avoid surgery for a knee injury sustained Tuesday at training camp, according to a report by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 24-year-old Washington product, drafted in the first round and 12th overall in 2018, walked off the practice field under his own volition Tuesday after sustaining an apparent leg injury, per multiple reports. Vea was set for an MRI later in the week.

Vea appeared in 13 games (eight starts) last season for Tampa Bay and logged 28 tackles and three sacks.
