The Buffalo Sabres downgraded the status of forward Conor Sheary to week-to-week with an upper-body injury, the team announced Wednesday. Sheary scored two goals against his former team in Buffalo's 3-1 win versus Pittsburgh on Thursday before notching an assist four days later in a 4-3 overtime loss at Columbus.

The team initially deemed Sheary as day-to-day on Tuesday before taking to social media the following day to announce his latest status. "After further evaluation, forward Conor Sheary will be week-to-week with an upper-body injury," according to a post from the team's official Twitter account.

Sheary has collected three points in three games after recording 34 (14 goals, 20 assists) in 78 games last season with the Sabres. The 27-year-old has 64 goals and 66 assists (130 points) in 265 career games with the Penguins and Sabres since entering the league as an undrafted player.

Evan Rodrigues, who was a healthy scratch in each of the first three games this season, is expected to draw into the lineup for Wednesday's home contest against the Montreal Canadiens.
