The Pittsburgh Steelers hired Ike Hilliard as their wide receivers coach, the team announced Tuesday. Hilliard, 43, has spent the past six seasons in his second stint with the Washington Redskins (2014-19). He also had a one-year run with the Redskins (2012) as well as one-year stints with the Buffalo Bills (2013) and Miami Dolphins (2011).

Hilliard recorded 546 receptions for 6,397 yards and 35 touchdowns in 161 games over 12 seasons with the New York Giants (1997-2004) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2005-08). The Giants selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft. Hilliard replaces interim receivers coach Ray Sherman, who came out of retirement to join the staff after Darryl Drake died during training camp.
