When live streaming a video meeting on Google Meet, meeting hosts can now turn the Q&A feature on and off for viewers. Additionally, Google has increased the limit of questions per meeting or livestream from 200 to 500.

Introduced earlier this year, Q&A in Google Meet facilitates better engagement and helps audiences get their questions answered, both at work and in school. For instance, educators can use Q&A to ask questions to students on class content and get answers from teachers. Similarly, businesses can use the feature to help make meetings more inclusive.

The ability to turn Q&A on and off during Google Meet livestreaming is available to Google Workspace Enterprise Essentials Plus, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Plus, Enterprise Standard, Education Plus, and the Teaching and Learning upgrade customers.

In parallel, Google has introduced tile pairing for Meet, allowing you to pair your video tile with another meeting participant's tile. Once the pairing is done, other meeting participants will see both tiles shown next to each other. Both pairing partners will have their borders outlined in blue when speaking. Tile pairing will be indicated in the meeting captions as well.

Notably, tile pairings will not be captured in meeting recordings and will not be available in break-out rooms at this time.

"Tile pairing can help make meetings more accessible, specifically in situations where you want to ensure a sign-language or other language interpreter is visible during the meeting. You can also use this feature to pair speaker duos or presenters with co-presenters for a more dynamic presenting experience," Google wrote in a blog post.

Tile pairing in Google Meet is gradually rolling out to Rapid Release domains while extended rollout for the Scheduled Release domains will commence on October 2, 2023. It will be available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts.
